ABOUT AUTHOR

Bishop Sheila Thomas Upson is a loving and compassionate woman of God. The love she has for God is contagious as she teaches, preaches, and lives the life God planned for her. She is the Senior Pastor of “In the Garden of Christ Ministries” (known as The Garden), along with her husband of thirty-four years Overseer Marvin L. Upson, they are the founders of this God-appointed church. She is a mother of 15 children, 40 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Bishop Sheila has served as a Chaplain for UF Health, Labor Relations Manager and Staff Development Trainer for the Florida Department of Health. She has since retired as of April 2023. Currently, she is the CEO of Simply Speaking by Sheila. She has Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and a Master’s degree in Ministry.
